Instadebit has closed: the dates, what happened to balances, and what casinos take instead

What Instadebit's notice says

The login page of instadebit.com now carries one notice: "InstaDebit service is ending".Source [1] It sets two dates. The last day to deposit was February 27, 2026. Balances could still be withdrawn until April 30, 2026.

The same notice covers money that stayed behind: "Any remaining balance is automatically sent to your linked bank account after 28 days of inactivity." It names one alternative for future payments, Interac e-Transfer.Source [1]

The login form is still online, with "Log In" and "Forgot Your Password?". That lets former customers see their history, but deposits and withdrawals through Instadebit are over.

Who ran Instadebit

Instadebit belonged to Paramount Commerce, a payments company in Toronto. Paramount's own history page calls it the company's first product, built to let people pay "directly from their bank account without the need for an e-wallet".Source [2]Source [3] Paramount has published no separate press release about the closure that we could find; the notice on instadebit.com is the primary source.

Instadebit is not iDebit

The two names are close, and many casino pages mix them up. They are separate services:

iDebit's FAQ, archived in January 2024, described a service that "enables you to make payments to merchants directly from your online banking account".Source [4] Its domain no longer resolves, which is why we keep the iDebit page separate from this one.

What to use at a casino cashier now

Instadebit itself points to Interac e-Transfer.Source [1] It is also named on the banking page of every casino in our tables. Four details decide how it works for you:

1. Your bank sets the limit. Interac says limits are "typically $2,000 to $3,000 per transaction for consumers".Source [5]
2. Your bank sets the fee. Many account plans include e-Transfers; some charge per transfer.Source [5]
3. The recipient is a processor. The e-Transfer usually goes to a company such as Gigadat, not to the casino by name. Our Gigadat page shows what that looks like in your banking app.
4. Withdrawals can take longer than deposits. The casino's pending period comes first, then the processor's own schedule.

Pros and cons of switching to Interac

My verdict

If you used Instadebit, the account is finished and any balance should already be back in your bank. I would switch to Interac e-Transfer before trying a lesser-known wallet: it runs through your own bank, its limits are published by your bank, and it is what Instadebit itself recommends. Check the casino's withdrawal methods before the first deposit, because Interac in and Interac out are not always offered together. The list of Interac casinos shows both directions for each one.
